SIX ARRESTED 4/29/25 State
Police arrested six people during a two-day anti-human trafficking demand
suppression operation in the Troy area of Madison County on Wednesday and
Thursday. The operation focused on identifying individuals seeking to engage
in sex acts with minors. Included
in the six was Effingham resident 40-year-old James A. Walker. The operation
was conducted by the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation
Trafficking Enforcement Bureau. The others arrested are from the Metro East
area. All suspects were charged with indecent solicitation of a child,
traveling to meet a minor, solicitation to meet a child, and grooming. The
Illinois State Police is continuing its multifaceted approach toward protecting
those most vulnerable with its ongoing statewide human trafficking enforcement
