IUKA ACCIDENT

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reports Luann Garwood, 62, of Mt. Carmel was injured in a single vehicle crash in the 6500 block of State Route 161 Extension west of Old Bell Road in rural Iuka late Tuesday afternoon.

Garwood was driving east on the 161 Extension when she overcorrected, ran off the north side of the road, and rolling on its top before coming to a stop.

Garwood was helped out of the SUV by the Kell Fire Protection District.  She was taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment of injuries.  The crash was reported at 4:39 Tuesday afternoon.
