CROP PROGRESS AND CONDITION 4/22/25 The
USDA says Illinois farmers made significant planting progress last week. There
were 4.1 days suitable for fieldwork in the week ending April 20th.
Topsoil moisture supply was rated 1% very short,
7% short, 72% adequate, and 20% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was
rated 2% very short, 13% short, 73% adequate, and 12% surplus. Corn
planted reached 7%, compared to the 5-year average of 11%. Soybeans
planted reached 10%, compared to the 5-year average of 7%. Winter
wheat headed reached 5%, compared to the 5-year
average of 6%. Winter wheat condition were rated 1% very poor, 6% poor, 38% fair, 49% good, and 6%
excellent.
