FLORA SCHOOL BOARD MEETING 4/16/24 The
Flora Community Unit School District Board of Education met last night and approved
the bid for the addition of classrooms at Floyd Henson Junior High School
submitted by Johannes Construction. They also approved the tentative amended
2023-2024 budget and set June 17th during the regular Board meeting
as the date and time for the budget hearing. Board
members Employed Gracie Carder as a full-time teacher effective April 11th
and Donna Krutsinger as part-time teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. They
also employed Carli Haskins as full-time custodian sub effective April 9th
and re-employed Ethan Steber for the 2024-2025 school year and Jeffrey Mitchell
as a volunteer assistant track coach for the 2024 season. Board
members accepted the resignation submitted by Lauren Schoreck effective May 22nd
and the resignation as full-time custodian sub submitted by Josh Wathan
effective March 27th. They also accepted the resignation submitted
by Hillary Dawkins and the retirement of Joy McKnelly both effective the end of
the 2023-2024 school year. Board
members approved the handbook changes for the 2024-2025 school year and substitute
pay and official pay for 2024-2025 both as presented.
